【摘要】:Mostspectrochemicalinstrumentsemployedforanalyzingsteelandironrequireasolidspecimenwithaflatsurfacelargeenoughforanalyticalexcitationandmeasurementprocedures.Thispracticedescribesaprocedureforconvertingunusualtypesofsteelandironsamplestosatisfactoryspectrochemicalspecimens.1.1Thispracticedescribesthepreparationofdiskspecimensofsteelandironbymeltingchunks,chips,drillings,turnings,wire,orpowderbriquetswithanelectricarcinanargonatmosphere.Solidificationofthespecimentakesplaceinthecrucibleinanargonatmosphere.Thediskobtainedissuitableforquantitativespectrochemicalanalysis.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpractices,anddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregivenin6.2.1,andSection8.
