【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedwidelyforthedeterminationofextremepressurepropertiesforspecificationpurposes.Usersarecautionedtocarefullyconsidertheprecisionandbiasstatementshereinwhenestablishingspecificationlimits.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheload-carryingcapacityoflubricatingfluidsbymeansoftheTimkenExtremePressureTester.Note18212;Thistestmethodissuitablefortestingfluidshavingaviscosityoflessthanabout5000cSt(5000mm2/s)at40x00B0;C.Fortestingfluidshavingahigherviscosity,refertoNote5in9.1.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Becausetheequipmentusedinthistestmethodisavailableonlyininch-poundunits,SIunitsareomittedwhenreferringtotheequipmentandthetestspecimens.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificwarningstatementsaregivenin7.1,7.2,8.1,8.2,9.4,and9.9.
