【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheinstrumentalmeasurementofspecimensresultingincolorcoordinatesandcolordifferencevaluesbyusingatristimuluscolorimeter,alsoknownasatristimulusfiltercolorimeteroracolor-differencemeter.1.2Provisionismadeinthistestmethodforthemeasurementofcolorcoordinatesandcolordifferencesbyreflectedortransmittedlightusingeitherahemisphericalopticalmeasuringsystem,suchasanintegratingsphere,orabidirectionalopticalmeasuringsystem,suchasannular,circumferential,oruniplanar45:0and0:45geometry.1.3Becauseofthelimitedabsoluteaccuracyoftristimuluscolorimeters,thistestmethodspecifiesthat,whencolorcoordinatesarerequired,theinstrumentbestandardizedbyuseofastandardhavingsimilarspectral(color)andgeometriccharacteristicstothoseofthespecimen.Thisstandardisalsoknownasaproductstandard.Theuseofaproductstandardofsuitablestabilityishighlydesirable.1.4Becausetristimuluscolorimetersdonotprovideanyinformationaboutthereflectanceortransmittancecurvesofthespecimens,theycannotbeusedtogainanyinformationaboutmetamerismorparamerism.1.5Becauseoftheinabilityoftristimulus(filter)colorimeterstodetectmetamerismorparamerismofspecimens,thistestmethodspecifiesthat,whencolordifferencesarerequired,thetwospecimensmusthavesimilarspectral(color)andgeometriccharacteristics.Inthiscase,theinstrumentmaybestandardizedforreflectancemeasurementbyuseofawhitereflectancestandardor,fortransmittancemeasurement,withnospecimenorstandardatthespecimenposition.1.6Thistestmethodisgenerallysuitableforanynon-fluorescent,planar,object-colorspecimensofallglosslevels.Usersmustdeterminewhetheraninstrumentcomplyingwiththismethodyieldsresultsthatareusefultoevaluateandcharacterizeretroreflectivespecimens,orspecimenshavingopticalstructures.1.7Thistestmethoddoesnotapplytotheuseofaspectrocolorimeter,whichisaspectrometerthatprovidescolorimetricdata,butnottheunderlyingspectraldata.MeasurementbyusingaspectrocolorimeteriscoveredinPractice1164andmethodsoncolormeasurementbyspectrophotometry.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
