【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesasimplemeansofcharacterizingthethermomechanicalbehaviorofplasticcompositionsusingverysmallamountsofmaterial.Thedataobtainedmaybeusedforqualitycontrol,researchanddevelopmentaswellastheestablishmentofoptimumprocessingconditions.Dynamicmechanicaltestingprovidesasensitivemeansfordeterminingthermomechanicalcharacteristicsbymeasuringtheelasticandlossmoduliasafunctionoffrequency,temperature,ortime.Plotsofmoduliandtandeltaofamaterialversusthesevariablescanbeusedtoprovideagraphicalrepresentationindicativeoffunctionalproperties,effectivenessofcure(thermosettingresinsystem),anddampingbehaviorunderspecifiedconditions.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoassess:5.3.1Modulusasafunctionoftemperature,5.3.2Modulusasafunctionoffrequency,5.3.3Theeffectsofprocessingtreatment,5.3.4Relativeresinbehavioralproperties,includingcureanddamping.5.3.5Theeffectsofsubstratetypesandorientation(fabrication)onmodulus,and5.3.6Theeffectsofformulationadditiveswhichmightaffectprocessabilityorperformance.Beforeproceedingwiththistestmethod,refertothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensions,ortestingparameters,orcombinationthereof,coveredintherelevantASTMmaterialsspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthosementionedinthistestmethod.IftherearenorelevantASTMmaterialspecifications,thenthedefaultconditionsapply.1.1Thistestmethodoutlinestheuseofdynamicmechanicalinstrumentationfordeterminingandreportingthevisco-elasticpropertiesofthermoplasticandthermosettingresinsandcompositesystemsintheformofrectangularbarsmoldeddirectlyorcutfromsheets,plates,ormoldedshapes.Thedatagenerated,usingthree-pointbendingtechniques,maybeusedtoidentifythethermomechanicalpropertiesofaplasticmaterialorcompositionsusingavarietyofdynamicmechanicalinstruments.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtoprovidemeansfordeterminingtheviscoelasticpropertiesofawidevarietyofplasticsmaterialsusingnonresonant,forced-vibrationtechniquesinaccordancewithPracticeD4065.Plotsoftheelastic(storage)modulus;loss(viscous)modulus;complexmodulusandtandeltaasafunctionoffrequency,time,ortemperatureareindicativeofsignificanttransitionsinthethermomechanicalperformanceofpolymericmaterialsystems.1.3Thistestmethodisvalidforawiderangeoffrequencies,typicallyfrom0.01to100Hz.1.4Apparentdiscrepanciesmayariseinresultsobtainedunderdifferingexperimentalconditions.Theseapparentdifferencesfromresultsobservedinanotherstudycanusuallybereconciled,withoutchangingtheobserveddata,byreportinginfull(asdescribedinthistestmethod)theconditionsunderwhichthedatawereobtained.1.5Duetopossibleinstrumentationcompliance,thedatageneratedareintendedtoindicaterelativeandnotnecessarilyabsolutepropertyvalues.1.6Testdataobtainedbythistestmethodarerelevantandappropriateforuseinengineeringdesign.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1ThistestmethodisequivalenttoISO6721,Part5.
